In the News

The Gonzaga Bulldogs have grabbed their first recruit out of the 2011 Class in Kyle Draganis. Draganis is a wiry 6-4 Point Guard out of Skyview High School in Nampa, ID. He seems to understand his size advantage at the Point with his ability to dominate smaller guards by creating mismatches and backing down in the paint. I expect Mark Few to use him in a similar fashion to how he uses Matt Bouldin(Also a big guard who can play the point). His biggest weakness at this time is his weight, he comes in at a very slim 165 pounds. He will need to definitely spend some time in the weight room adjusting to the much more physical nature of Division 1 College Basketball.

In Other News, late last night, the Zag family lost one of its many assets in the low post. Andy Poling will be transferring to an as yet named Division 1 program in Oregon. Most think he is transferring due to a lack of playing time. He came into this season with the expectations of challenging for a bigger role, but the Zags ended up with the opportunity to bring in players who ate away at any potential playing time that existed. I wish Andy well and hope that he can adjust to life outside Spokane.
