Update on FIBA U-18 Team (coach Few is an assistant)

The USA Basketball Under-18 national team will go big with the team they take to Brazil for the FIBAs Americas Championships.

Nice to have Gonzaga's coach Mark Few as an assistant coach. This can only help with recruiting going forward.

Let's get the gold!!~

I'm going to go ahead and make a prediction right now: Gonzaga will start a series with either Florida or VCU sometime soon.

I feel like every time we play a solid team in the tournament (Michigan State, Davidson, etc) that has a schedule opening we find a way to work something out. I feel like Few is well respected in the coaching community and when he gets the chance to schedule a marquee opponent, he takes it. So yeah, the prediction is that VCU or Florida pops up in the Gonzaga schedule in coming years.

Nice take....hadn't thought of that aspect of it.

If I had my choice of the two you mentioned I would pick Florida for selfish reasons. A home & home might mean I could justify GOING there for a game. That would be sweet. Expensive, but what an excuse to go to Florida!

Coach Few might also learn some new tactics for beating St. Mary's.

Boeheim zone anyone? lol

I thought somewhere I read that Jim Boeheim was going to be the head coach, while Few, Dovovan & Shaka Smart were to be the the assistants.

Looks like Donovan will be the head coach. Woops!

Forget the zone comment above!
