Recruit Profile: Clyde Santee

Quiet. A word that describes GU's interest in 2012 Wing, Clyde Santee of Houston, Texas. The Zags have been linked to wings all across the nation as analysts continue to speculate the staff will add a wing from this class. But who is Clyde Santee? Read more after the Jump.

 Well for starters, hes a 6-8 wing, somewhat lanky. Texas Hoops had this to say about Clyde:
"Clyde is a long and rangy tweener with the skills and talent to really break out over the next year. He handles the ball well for his size, can knock down the 3 point shot, can create and get to the rim and runs the floor very well. He is more of an open court player, excels in the transition game, gets trash off the boards and is a good rebounder. He moves well for his size and his inside/ouside combination make him very intriguing as he gets stronger and tougher."

In a recent interview with D1 Nation, Clyde stated that the Zags were one of his top 5 schools(the others were Houston, Arizona, Marquette, and Colorado. He also has offers from Oregon, LSU, Tennessee, and Auburn). Houston recently had its lead recruiter hired away by Larry Brown at SMU, so perhaps that puts the hometown advantage level with the rest of the schools on his list. That being said if Arizona and Marquette are involved, it will be an uphill battle for Clyde's services. We will keep you posted as we learn more, as always GO ZAGS!

No Problem, will do!

A 6'8 wing that can hit the three and has good handles? That would be a matchup nightmare for GU's opponents.

I could get excited about this!

I as well enjoy recruiting updates. Nice to see we have some great potentials on the radar. Is it me or is the GU staff much more active early in the recruiting battle this year? IMO, we are a player or 2 short of making a deep run, like where were headed.

I Agree, It seems like someone has but a bullet up the staff's a**. When we start losing recruiting battles to Wazzo and San Diego State, it's time to get our heads out!

And, it looks like they are getting the message!

Is it just me? Or, does this young fellow remind you of Austin Daye? He couold very well end up 6'10, same lanky frame but skills that the NBA might want to take a look at down the road.

Josh is really good at getting up info on all the latest recruiting news.

Better than "other" blogs. I really don't think you can find another Zag blog that posts recruiting news as fast as Josh.

Now, if he would finally get something up on that Kendal kid, sheesh. {inside joke}

I live in Houston and have seen Santee play a few times. Had his worst game of the year on the biggest stage, played horrible in State Championship game this year. Took good shots, for some reason they just didn't fall. Definitely has the skill to be a college player. Would fit Gonzaga very well.
