Recruit Profile: Dominique Collier

According to NY2LASports.com, the Zags are showing interest in 2014 Guard Dominique Collier out of Denver. He is a 6-2, 150 Point Guard who has played with the KC Run GMC program during the grassroots travel season. He has also received interest from most of the major programs in the country including UNC, Kansas, Arizona, UCLA, Florida St., Georgetown, Virginia, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin. At this point the staff has not offered Dominique, but with cursory interest from most of the big schools in the nation it is good to see the staff at least doing the legwork on this recruit.

Anthony Curro of NY2LASports.com had this to say about Dominique:
"Standing at 6-2 with a sleek 150 pound frame, the Denver East (CO) is a smooth and polished perimeter talent who can slide between either Guard position.  Equipped with instincts, handles, length, vision, and a perimeter stroke that can knock down the mid-range jumper or drill the trey ball, Collier has impressed with his ability to put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways.  Always holding a solid first step dating back to middle school where he captured M.V.P. honors at the 2010 Generation Next All-Star Camp, Collier has evolved into a lethal combo guard with the ability to take over the game scoring the ball or creating on the offensive end of the floor.  A plethora of schools have taken notice."
Last July he had a chance to play with the U-16 team at the FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico and had a lot of fun playing with Jabari Parker and Aaron Gordon. The team took home Gold and Dom, as he likes to be called, played sparingly averaging 3.2 points in the five game tourney.

It is likely he will continue to receive major interest from most of the top schools in the country and he remains a long shot to end up in Spokane, but with his talent level he would be an amazing prospect for the program. We will keep you posted as we learn more about Dominique. GO ZAGS!
