Pangos & Bell at BIS Booth for Hoopfest

I was going to be out of town for Hoopfest but I made it a point to squeeze in a few minutes to visit the Battle in Seattle Booth located in Riverfront Park.

We had to park quite a distance from the booth (we parked at the old Flour Mill) and walked in from there. A nice walk across the bridge allowed us to see the white water rapids below us.

At the other side of the park tons of excited people were milling about and it was very festive. Live Hoopfest games were being played on the street facing Riverfront Park. There was the smell of vendor food in the air and shrieking children happily feeding the ducks in the Spokane River that runs through the park.

Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell Jr. were supposed to be there at 9:30 a.m. but were running a bit late. They arrived to sign autographs at approx. 10:05 a.m. The line was deep and it was loud, making it difficult to speak to and hear the Zag players.

We took a lot of pictures and were pretty excited to have an employee from the Gonzaga Alumni Office taking pics for us as well. Unfortunately, the Gonzaga Compliance Officer (John Hines) who was on scene stepped in and informed everyone that the party was over and that we could not use the pics on our blog site. Apparently, it would have been an NCAA violation for a Gonzaga employee to be taking pictures that would be posted on Zagaholic. Good grief!

We asked Kevin and Gary how they thought the Zags would do next season and they both agreed that they should, and hoped, do better than last season. They were enjoying Hoopfest and looked forward to watching some of the games involving past Zag players after the autograph session.

Here are a few of the pics we managed to pirate out, lol.

I just wished I could have shown ALL the pics...it was kind of a bummer. But, I guess they have their rules. And, the last thing I want to do is upset "the mothership", lol.
