Recruit Profile: Jordan Bell

According to Josh Paunil of National Recruiting Spotlight, forward Jordan Bell has picked up an offer from the Zags.

Rivals.com ranks the Long Beach, CA native as the 78th best player in the Class of 2013. Jordan has received several offers since his time at the Nike EYBL tourney. Jordan, at 6-7 and growing, is a natural post player and projects well to the 4 at the next level, Scout.com had this to say:

"A terrific leaper, Bell is one of the nation's elite shot blockers and racks up numerous blocks a game. He's also a very good rebounder and has great rebounding range, grabbing boards all over the court. Offensively, Bell is still raw and much of his offense comes off putbacks and lay-ups. He needs to work on his shooting, post moves, footwork and handles. Despite being raw on offense, Bell will be highly recruited since he's an elite defender."
While Jordan is raw on the offensive end, he brings a tenacity to the defensive side of the ball that would be more than welcome for the Zags. Expect the staff (probably Donny Daniels) to key in on Bell during the July contact period. He would seem to be a high profile recruit for the staff who could come in and fill the shoes of Elias Harris on the defensive end for the 2013-14 season. We will keep you posted as we learn more about Jordan's recruitment. As always, GO ZAGS!

Here are some clips of Jordan:

I like what I see.

Getting a little worried about who was going to replace E.

So, this guy scores on putbacks and layups...kind of like E did his first year. He was the garbage man, cleaning up everyones's messes.

Jorden Bell is a much better rebounder this early in his developement than E was.

Maybe we can reel this guy in. If E does well this year it could be nice ammunition to tell Jordan he will be the next E. And we really need him.

I, too, like what I see. He has good timing, knows where the ball is, has some rudimentary block-out skills and a bit of personality as evidenced by that yellow mohawk. His rebounding and blocked shots as well as his put-backs will be sorely needed when Elias leaves. I hope we can get a commitment from him.
