Leslie speaking on the process of getting set up for the draft:
"So far the process has worked like this:
Robert chose his agents - Keith and Greg
They have been in touch with the different NBA teams. The agents work with the NBA reps to set up work outs. Each NBA team that wants to have Robert work out pays for his expenses- travel, hotel, meals etc. Robert has said some teams have sent a member from their organization to pick him up from the airport and some have arranged for a driver to pick him up. Each work out has been different. He has told me that he has met GMs, Coaches, staff and players from different teams. (He hasn't given me any names...lol)
IMG- Is a private training center in Florida- It was one that the agents recommended but Robert had the choice of several. The family is paying for the expenses at IMG. The package includes: Meals, an apartment, Individual work outs, group work outs...you can check out their information on- line. When Robert went down to New Orleans, we asked Dale Brown (The LSU Coach when I was at LSU) - where he would send a "Big guy" ...he said he sent "Big Baby" to IMG... so it made sense to Robert...at IMG Robert is getting alot of one on one time... prior to going to IMG the trainer's watched film on Robert and developed an action plan...on what he needed to work on to improve...
Finally Robert told me last night he got another tattoo (Water the Bamboo!!! ) ... even on the road Robert can find a tattoo parlour..."
She had this to say regarding Rob's schedule over the last week and a half:
May 16: "Robert will be in Boston on Friday!!! then ...Oklahoma City, the New Jersey (Brooklyn Nets)...Busy times ahead..."
May 20: "Rob is in New Jersey at Combine. Yesterday interviewed with Oklahoma and Houston. Today after workout Hornets and San Antonio want to interview him. Tonight flys to San Francisco. Golden State on Tuesday and La Clippers on Weds. Thurs he is with the Pacers. ZAGS thanks for all the support during this process Rob really appreciates it !!!!!!! Go ZAG!!!!!"
May 24: "Robert finished his workouts this week with Golden State and La Clippers.We hope to hear more soon from Leslie and possibly Robert himself. What a wonderful family, truly bleeds Bulldog Blue! Such a joy to see what a wonderful man Robert has grown into during his time at Gonzaga.
Pacers was re-scheduled because the other players that the Pacers want to work out with Robert had to re-schedule. Robert called me at 6:30 am this morning he was on his way to LA airport... now he is flying back to Florida (IMG). The next few days he will work out at IMG to get ready for next week.
Monday May 28, 2012 he flys back to New York to work out with the Knicks on Tuesday May 29. Then he flys to Minneapolis for the NBA Combine, in that city... alot more traveling and schedule work outs over the next few weeks...we will keep you posted..."
