ESPN released their 2013 rankings today and there was a lot of movement. Three players being courted by the Zags made the list:
20. Xavier Rathan-Mayes
93. Kendal Harris
97. Zach LaVine
Xavier certainly looks like the type to be ranked even higher than #20 by the time all is said and done, he is currently being courted by...well...just about everyone. His chances of ending up in Spokane are low, however the fact that he is considering us is a good thing. It will be fun to see him blossom into an even greater player as time goes on.
We all know at this point that Zach LaVine is likely headed somewhere in the PAC 12 with UCLA currently being his favorite, but nonetheless, the Zags are still hot on his trail.
Kendal Harris has received a good amount of interest recently and it will be hard to pry him from the clutches of BIG 12 country, however we feel there is a good chance that the pipeline Coach Few and Giacoletti have developed in Texas could make inroads with Kendal.
At the end of the day we like D.J. Fenner a lot out of the class of 2013, he might not be listed in the top 100 right now, but his talent level seems like a good fit for the program. His unofficial visit during the weekend of June 17 will certainly be something to keep an eye on as the staff makes a push to vie for his services. We will keep you posted as we learn more about the Class of 2013. As always, GO ZAGS!
