Recruit Profile: Jordan McLaughlin

According to Joey Natale of Coast2Coasthoops.com, 2014 guard Jordan McLaughlin of Etiwanda, CA is listing Gonzaga. Natale goes on to say that Jordan is listing "the whole PAC-12, Gonzaga, UNLV, San Diego State, Syracuse and UConn." Rivals.com has him listed as their #33 player in the class of 2014. Jordan is smallish at around 5-11, but he brings with him excellent athleticism and an adept ability at creating his own shot. He seems like he will be able to score very well at the next level. His recruitment is obviously in its early stages, but so far we like what we see.

Scout.com had this to say:
"Jordan McLaughlin has come a long way over the past year. He has long arms for his size, is an explosive athlete who will surprise you with his burst to the basket, keeps improving as both a set shooter and with his ability to create his own shot. McLaughlin's handles keep getting better and he has a ridiculous crossover that - combined with his quickness - helps him get right by his defender."

Rival coach, Jamal Adams of Los Angeles Loyola had this to say:
"I can't imagine that there are two better sophomores in the state (in regards to Jordan McLaughlin, and his own player Parker Jackson-Cartwright), We're talking about a pair of kids who are going to be high-major college-type of recruits when they're seniors. Both of them are getting a ton of looks already. I had a bunch of coaches and scouts call me this week about the game. Everyone wanted to see Parker and Jordan go at it.''
No offer by the Zags has been listed as of yet, however it is likely one will come in the future. Jordan seems like a high priority recruit for the Zags going forward. Right now the staff would probably like to get either McLaughlin or Kendall Small (or both, if we are greedy) so as to have someone to take over for Kevin Pangos. We will keep you posted as we learn more about his recruitment. As always, GO ZAGS!

Here are a few clips of Jordan in action:
