Recruit Profile: Jadon Cohee

The last time Mark Few and Co. reached into Vancouver B.C., they unearthed a project. This guy was a true 7 footer and built like a football player. He was a project, no one would argue about that, but there was a fire within him. He would come to the program with a chip on his shoulder, a drive that helped him develop into one of the best centers in college basketball. If you haven't figured out that im referring to Robert Sacre by now, i would seriously need to question your fan hood.

Jadon Cohee is not Robert Sacre, He is not a Center nor is he a 7 Footer, a matter of fact he is about 8 inches shorter (6-4 but growing) than Sacre. He is only a sophomore (Class of 2014) right now. At this point no one has even linked the Zags coaching staff to him. You could say he is flying somewhat under the radar in Vancouver.

He has excellent court vision, and a knack for the outside shot. He is still growing, and may eventually be more of a wing. He has shown the ability to throw it down, and exhibits great athleticism. He has a knack for the hoop, always seeming to be in great position to score. His body control near the rim is stunning, he has the ability to create his own shot. His defense is raw, but he has shown good on ball defense and the ability to create turnovers. He will likely progress well over the next few years.

It is obviously early in his recruitment. He still has 2 years of High School ball left, however we think he will be a fast riser. The only team that we have found to show interest in Jadon so far appears to be UW. He attended an Elite camp on their campus last year. The staff needs to take a look at this kid, he definitely seems to have the type of skills that will make him a great asset for the Bulldogs. We will keep you posted as we learn more about Jadon's recruitment. As always, GO ZAGS!

Here are a few clips of Jadon in action (note he wears #12):

Definitely worth keeping an eye on. It was reported earlier today that he was invited to tryout for the Canadian Cadet National team. Sounds like he has a very good chance of making the team too, would be a great opportunity to see how he fairs against some of the top competition in the world.

I watched Cohee play at the BC AAA's and he is a very very good player.

It would behoove not only the Gonzaga Men's coaches but also the Women's coaches to do what they can to ensure that D1 worthy talent from B.C. or Alberta High Schools does not escape their grasp and end up at another other school (i.e. York House's Alisha Roberts signing at Pepperdine, or Braxton Bunce @ Cornell).

The 2nd Video is a sick mixtape.

Footage is always a plus! Especially the one video from the Provincials it showcases not only his skills but highlights his good shot selection and court vision. If the zags pick him up it would be a steal, this kid will have many programs looking at him in the years to come. Keep it going Jadon!

He could be a good one. He has a consistent jumper (albeit slightly unconventional). He looks to have a little Kyle Anderson and Kevin Martin in his game.

Check out recent newspaper reports and videos on Jadon Cohee, 2014 Class. Coach Simon of Findlay Prep referred to him as a phenomenal talent with a lot of confidence after his team played Cohee's school. He promptly scored 44 points the following day with 2 dunks in a 3 point game at half. He quarterbacks the #1 school in the Province at 6'4". University of Portland just offered him.
