Adam Morrison back to the NBA?

According to netsdaily.com, Former Gonzaga great Adam Morrison has been invited to attend a special 2 day free agent camp later this month. He will be competing with at least 20 other free agents for potential roster spots with the Brooklyn Nets. While beating out most of the these players will certainly go a long way towards Adam earning a roster spot, im sure the team will invite him to their Summer League camps prior to signing him to a deal.

Adam spent last year playing in Serbia and Turkey. He actually almost signed a 10 day contract with the Nets during the 2011 season, but suffered a serious ankle injury. Heres hoping we will see Mr. Stachio back in the NBA soon! As Always, GO ZAGS!

Here are a few clip of Adam during his time in Europe:

Wow, this is great news. Always been a big Morrison, despite the lack of success in the league, I've always thought that he was the product of multiple bad breaks. Hopefully Adam will be able to make it on the roster. Adam average 11.8 pts as a rookie, Steve Novak has only averaged 8.8 pts per in his most successful season, this season. If Steve who is a much more 1-dimensional type player can make a roster, I feel like Adam can

I am a huge fan of Morrison. Wouldn't it be so sweet if he could catch on with an NBA team and shut up the critics?

Good luck AMMO!!~

He's never going to shut up critics, I don't ever see him unbusting and validating the #3 pick. BUT, I do think he can make a bit of a comeback and prove that he's NBA worthy. Like Anon/May 9 12:18AM poster said, he got a lot of bad breaks. Sure his shooting % was abysmal his first season but I think for the 1st half of his rookie season he was shooting a better % and averaging around 15 PPG, then he tapered off.

Given he is a diabetic I imagine it was tougher for him to adjust, we never got to see a 2nd season. He tore the ACL and then Larry Brown came in as head coach and never tried to use Morrison. Then came the trade and the Lakers were fairly deep, that and I think he sort of just became disenchanted with the game for a time.

I think if Morrison wants to make a comeback he needs to work on his guard skills and spot up shooting. Of course his defense as well, he's never gonna be able to be able to lock anyone down, but at least get a bit better. Hopefully things go well with for him this offseason. It would be nice to see him prove that he's more than just an NBA punchline.

I agree with everything you have said.

My point was that it would be nice if he could shut up the critics. Can he? I have my doubts.

But I also feel that if he had not injured his knee things might have turned out diferently. His stats sucked as a rookie, but that does not mean the trend would have continued if he had a longer career. Many NBA veterans had bad rookie stats, yet went on to have stellar careers.

I hope he sticks somewhere. Maybe bring him off the bench for offense.
